Rationale
The department is fully committed to languages for all and to developing each learner’s potential to the maximum at all levels.
Language learning should develop in pupils a heightened awareness of and respect for other languages, their speakers and their beliefs and values.
As part of the school community the department has a role to play in developing the pupils’ awareness of different languages for communication, an understanding of and respect for different cultures.
